What Pilates is

Pilates is an exercise method that controls your body, mind, and muscles.

It will improve your posture, range of motion, flexibility, circulation and abdominal strength. It teaches you how to train your mind and build symmetry and coordination in the body. In that way you will feel more energetic, taller and stronger to be able to do more things in life!

Pilates is suitable for a wide range of people, from beginners to professional athletes, dancers and eldery.

Joseph Pilates developed the method which is now nearly 100 years old. He rehabilitated injured WW1 soldiers in England and worked to prevent injury and produce peak performance in professional athletes and dancers in New York City.

What I offer

I offer private classes, custom made specifically for your needs and goals. My goal is to help everyone that needs personal attention to their bodies.

Maybe you feel that when you do pilates in a big group you don’t get enough attention? I might be able to help you further. Together we can improve your posture and give you awareness of how you sit, stand or move and connect those habits to the pains and injuries you have or had. I can help dancers with helping to use the right muscles to prevent injuries.

It’s possible to book a private class on the Mat. Soon there will be Mat group classes and classes on the Pilates equipment (Reformer, Chair, Trapeze table, Ladder Barrel and the Spine Corrector). On the equipment are even more possibilities and challenges to improve your strength, flexibility, coördination and balance.

About Me

I joined the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam when i just turned 10 years old and completed my degree 9 years later, in 2003. For the past years, I have been working as a ballet dancer in international shows. (Aalto Ballet Essen, Cats, Best of musical Gala, West Side story, and more).

Pilates has always been a big part of my ballet training. It always kept me in shape and helped me getting better from an injury.

I followed several Pilates teacher training courses. The Pilates Company, Kineticode Pilates and the studio/rehab education from Polestar Pilates.

I worked with all kinds of people. For example elderly, people working in an office and athletes. I taught dancers, at “Dance in Art” in Haarlem and at Stage Entertainment musical “Moeder ik wil bij de Revu” in Utrecht. Currently I am teaching the Dutch Olympic women rowing team, who won gold and silver medals on the Olympic Games in Rio 2016.
